Information About the Women’s March on Washington 2017

The Women’s March on Washington is shaping up well, with an official rallying point and a growing roster of partners. Planned Parenthood, Gloria Steinem, and Harry Belafonte are lending their expertise and leadership. We can make donations to support the expenses of the Women’s March. Small dollars add up.

UPDATE As of 12/30/2017, NARAL has joined as an official participant.

A partial list of organizations sending delegations to march in DC on January 21: American Association of University Women-National (AAUW); Democrats Abroad – Canada; various groups coming from synagogues and churches; state delegations from all 50 states. Leadership of the boycott of retailers selling Trump brands will be attending.

Sustained collective action involves all sorts of efforts. Public gathering is and will be a strong force in the effort to resist Donald Trump’s administration, the Republican Party’s reactionary policies, and those who legitimate patriarchy, misogyny, racism, religious bigotry. Such gatherings do more than publicize the cause. They show those of us resisting that we are not alone, we stand together, part of something that we cannot do singly  but that we can accomplish together.

I plan to update this post frequently. If you have information you recommend including please let me know via Twitter – @heidilifeldman.
